Life on a Bike is Hard on Gear!

Have you ever worn out a piece of gear and couldn't afford to replace it or just couldn't bring yourself to throw it out? Welcome to my world. Riding a bike is a very simple thing to do, but the deeper one goes into the rabbit hole, the more expensive it all becomes. I've found that I need to prioritize my needs mostly based on whatever season I'm in at the time. My wife and I own one car which she needs for work. That leaves me with my bike, year round. I justify whatever money I throw toward gear with the fact that I'd either be buying gear or maintaining the expense that comes with cars. Top priority goes toward items that will keep me as comfortable as I can be on the commutes, typically that means staying warm. Unfortunately the life span of a lot of this stuff is just way too short. I'm sure many of you can relate and maybe some of your gear looks as used and abused as mine does.b2ap3_thumbnail_PC200346.JPG
